Fundraisers and Activities

The following is a list of fundraisers and activities the PTO is involved in. The funds from these activities and fundraisers go back into the school to pay for class trips, assemblies and graduations awards.

Back to School Bingo: This is a fun BINGO night for grades K through 5 held in the Pearson School All Purpose Room.  Every child wins a prize and ice cream is served at intermission!

Fall Fundraiser: Holiday inspired items and wrapping paper is sold to friends and family members. The PTO makes a profit of 40 to 60% of all sales!

Holiday Auction: This fun night is usually held the 1st Friday in December at Walnut Street School auditorium. It is an auction of donated items which are placed in baskets. A winning ticket for each item is chosen. Tables are sorted by $3 for $1 tickets, $1 ticket tables and a $5 ticket table. The PTO also offers a 50/50 where the money collected is split with the winner! The cost to get into the auction is $5 and includes a snack and bottle of water. This is our biggest fundraiser, raising between $8,000 and $10,000! All money raised goes back to the school!

Box Tops: Box Tops are collected year round with two submissions, one in the fall and one in the spring. The PTO usually runs a contest to coincide with the submissions where students can win gift cards for Target, Modell's, I-Tunes, 7-11, Vinny's Pizza, etc.  See the "Box Tops" portion of the website for more information.

Breakfast with Santa/Little Shopper's Shop: This is a fun event for grades K through 5 held in the Pearson School All Purpose Room.  Each student can have a breakfast of cereal, muffins, donuts, fruit and yogurt including milk and juice then get their picture taken with Santa.  A Christmas craft is also offered for anyone who wants to make one.  Students can then go the "Shoppers Shop" where they can purchase gifts for family members! The gifts range in price from 25 cents to $5. Students can also purchase cookies on the "cookie walk". These are homemade cookies sold by the dozen.

Chick-Fil-A Nights: This is a fundraiser offered several times a year where students are given a ticket representing their classroom to go to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. Chick-Fil-A donates 20% of the sales from that evening back to the PTO.

Roller Skating Party: This is a fun event held at Holiday Skating Center, usually on a Sunday evening, where students can come out to skate and have fun with their classmates.

Spring Musical: The PTO sponsors the annual Spring Musical which is for students in grades K through 5. Each class performs songs in accordance with an annual "theme". Mrs. Caan, the music teacher, organizes this event and the PTO pays for all props and costumes to put on this event. The PTO also holds a 50/50 before the musical.

Election Day: The PTO offers ice cream for students while their parents vote in the school gym. The PTO offers this ice cream event to encourage voter turnout.

Track and Field Day: Students in grades K through 5 participate in Track and Field Day which is organized through the gym teacher at Delanco School. This is a fun day where students are assigned a team color and each "team" competes in games such as sack races, tug of war and hoop races. The PTO helps with this event by providing snacks of crackers or granola bars and water for the children during their morning break during the event. The PTO also provides water ices for each class at the end of the day.

Graduation Awards: The PTO sponsors graduation awards for Math, Science and Most Improved Student. These awards are $100 each and go a boy and girl in each of the three categories.
